All The Way For Written

Mar 21, 2016

The stable's great run of form continued at Bendigo on Saturday with terrific mare Written taking out one of the day's features, the $110,000 Gold Bracelet.

Driven straight to the lead by Katelyn Mallyon, the daughter of Written Tycoon (who enjoyed a good day with his son Capitalist winning the Golden Slipper) was always travelling well out wide, giving a good kick in the run home.

Saluting by a length and a half with plenty in hand, Written recorded the seventh success of her consistent 26 start career, one which has seen her amass in excess of $378,000 in stakes for her happy owners.

"It looked a race devoid of speed," Michael Kent said, "so I told Katelyn to just let her stride and it was a good ride - that is how she races best, she lengthens rather than quickens."

"I thought she was over the odds today," he continued, "her form has been great and it looked a nice race for her."

Mallyon was always happy with Written in the run, noting that she was "confident the whole way."

"She switched off beautifully and I thought she was the winner a long way out."

"She is a gutsy mare, she keeps on coming and it is very hard to get past her."

We had just the two runners at the Bendigo meeting and we were also happy with the effort of Amadeus, a gutsy second at his first attempt in stakes company.
