Double for Michael Kent Jnr

Mar 10, 2015

It was another memorable day at the picnics for the stable with Michael Kent Jnr steering home at double at Balnarring on Monday.

What Logic and Aurelli were the winners and the latter was of particular significance as that six-year-old mare is also trained  by Michael whose strike rate from his small team at his dad's stable is impressive!

Recording three victories from five starts since the start of the year, Aurelli is understandably a real favourite.

"It was another great win considering she had to lump 67kg," Michael enthused.

"That's three from three at the track and distance now. What makes her so effective is her superior turn of foot against picnic horses."

"We have already had a couple of tries at winning a professional race with her and she has gone pretty close. The picnic season is coming to an end so we will certainly try again as under the right circumstances she is certainly capable."

Raced by Michael with friend Alan Kennan, Aurelli is providing the pair with plenty of excitement.

"It is a real thrill to win in front of all of our family and friends and that is one of the biggest attraction to racing a horse at the picnics - it is such a great day out for everyone."

Thanks to for the winning photo.
