Madog In Winning Form

Mar 03, 2015

Having just his second start for the stable, the lightly raced and talented four-year-old Madog was an easy two length winner at Bendigo on Friday.

Sent out favourite in the 1600m BM58 event, Madog drifted back to last from his outside gate and looked to be in trouble hemmed in for runs at the top of the straight.

But once clear Madog  showed an impressive turn of foot to reel in the leaders before racing away over the final stages.

In doing so, Madog recorded the second win of his seven start career and Michael Kent is confident that the best is still to come.

"It looks like he is going to say and I think he will continue to progress as he gets up in trip."

"He came with us with a reputation  for being a bit difficult but so far he has been good."

Raced by Roy Apoostolopoulos, Madog is by Green Desert stallion Kheleyf out of the city placed three times winning Bluebird mare Evening Gem - half-sister to the VRC Oaks winner Weekend Delight.
