Treble For Michael Jnr
Apr 21, 2014
What a great day it was at the picnic meeting Swift’s Creek last Sunday – Michael’s son Michael Kent Jnr enjoying the biggest day of his riding career booting home a treble.
And one of those was for his very proud Dad with King Henry recording his second easy victory in a row.
Successful at the Healesville meeting on April 5, King Henry rose in both distance and weight on Sunday but the steadier of 70kg was not enough to slow him down.
“I elected to lead as he was the best horse in the field,” Michael said.
“And with 70kg I did not want to have to do too much at the end of the race.”
“He fought the challengers off easily in the straight and in the end was a comfortable winner.”
A five-year-old son of the late King Of Roses, King Henry has now won three races for his owners Michael Kent, Steve Moran, Karen Barker & P Hickman.
Bred by Kingston Park Stud, he is one of six winners for the stakes placed Storm Cat mare Kitty Cat, also dam of the Alice Springs Cup winner Zylvester and the tough multiple city winner Snappy Tom.
