Epingle Tackles Chairman's

The stable is preparing for a busy weekend with runners at Cranbourne, Caulfield and Randwick.

Head-lining our line- up is the talented stayer Epingle who takes her place in the Gr.2 Chairman's Handicap en-route to a crack at the Gr.1 Sydney Cup.

Michael Kent is looking forward to seeing Epingle step back up in distance with the Hobart & Launceston Cup winner having caught the eye charging home over 1900m in the Gr.3 Epona Stakes at her most recent outing.

"Her form beyond 2400m is hard to fault," Kent said, adding that he has always had faith that the daughter of Pins would mature into a stakes quality stayer.

"She was always a bit immature and just needed time."

Kent also plays the part of owner at Randwick on Saturday with the Craig Carmody trained Everage lining up in the Gr.3 P.J Bell Stakes.

And he is looking for an improved showing from the noted wet-tracker who looks likely to strike her favoured heavy going for the first time this preparation.

"She is a Randwick winner over this trip this time last year and the rain is going to enhance her chances," Kent said.
