Thought highly enough of to kick off his three-year-old campaign in a rich Magic Millions maiden, the promising Mysonharry was an impressive winner at Mornington on Monday.
Getting too far back when contesting the Gold Coast race, the bay again settled back in his latest 1525m assignment - making a run out very wide before the turn - full of running for Michael Rodd.
Going even wider at the turn, Mysonharry charged home as the leader fought gamely on the rails, getting the photo by a narrow margin.
"It wasn't a pretty win," Rodd admitted, "but he got the job done."
Confident that the lightly raced gelding has plenty of scope for improvement, Rodd described Mysonharry as "a raw, green bugger" - adding that "once he got to the front he wanted to have a look around."
Campaigning Mysonharry in good company at two, Michael Kent has always had a good opinion of the well related galloper - "I have got a lot of time for him," he said, adding that "I think he will get to Saturday grade."
A $170,000 Magic Millions graduate by Vinery Stud's French Champion 2Y0 Colt Myboycharlie (pictured), Mysonharry is the first foal produced by the imported Danehill Dancer mare Fidelias Dance - daughter of the French stakes winner Fidelio's Miracle.
This is the family of Myboycharlie - giving Mysonharry a 3 X 4 cross of his own fourth dam, the stakes winning successful broodmare Snowtop.
Congratulations to happy owners ~~Mark Casey, Janne Casey, Douglas McLennan, Janine Duke, Bronwyn Porter, Kerry Good and Andrew Wade.
