Real Success

Jan 27, 2014

Lightly raced four-year-old Realist showed plenty of potential when last in work and, as a more mature horse, it did not take him long to strike form this time in.

Resuming in a 0-64 ratings event over 1205m at Yarra Valley on Sunday, the talented chestnut got back from a wide gate for Luke Nolen who rode a patient race.

Starting his run out wide before the turn, Realist travelled beautifully to the turn and - despite being inclined to race a little greenly - really charged in the run home.

Drawing clear over the final stages to win by 1¼ lengths with plenty in hand, Realist recorded the second victory of his seven start career.

Congratulations to long time stable client John Olle who races Realist with Karin MacNab. John bred the son of Purrealist out of his Scenic mare Bella Rippa - a 3/4 sister to the dual Group One winner Episode.

This family has been good to John and to the stable, Bella Rippa (who foaled an eye-catching black colt by Street Boss in late November) being a half-sister to the metropolitan winners Countcool and Cameo Minx.
