Hereafter Overcomes Trouble
Jan 06, 2014
It did not take long for the promising four-year-old Hereafter to find winning form this preparation, the still lightly raced galloper impressive saluting over 2025m second up at Cranbourne on Friday night.
Running nicely first up over a mile at Seymour, Hereafter was partnered for the first time by Craig Newitt at Cranbourne and he was always travelling well - settling midfield but need a bit of luck coming to the turn.
But once clear he showed great heart and determination, taking the split and getting clear late to win by 3/4 a length with plenty in hand.
A two times winner from just five starts - and always regarded city class by the stable - Hereafter looks set for a successful summer for his happy owners TIm Cramp, Nikki Firmin and Terry Mawer.
Bred by Cramp, Hereafter is a son of the regally bred Redoute's Choice stallion Break The Vault, half-brother to the recently retired legend Zabeel. Sadly Break The Vault is in the Phillipines now but we have had a bit of luck with him with the promising Bondi Break - who is set to resume soon - also by him.
