Dane's First Saturday Metro Success

Dec 08, 2013

Gutsy mare Danestroem did a great job to salute first up after racing wide and second up at Caulfield on Saturday - having enjoyed a better run in transit - she was most impressive.

Nicely rated by Jackie Beriman, the in-form four-year-old settled just off the pace - straightening up into the clear, hitting the lead with around 150m to go and racing clear.

Saluting by a length with plenty in hand, Danestroem recorded the fifth win of her 16 start career and whilst already a metropolitan winner, it was her first in Saturday grade.

Congratulations to a very happy group of owners led by breeder Kerry Selleck who races Danestrome (with Lee Selleck, Brian Lawrence, Peter Etheredge, Dominic Chila and Francis Ambrosino.

A daughter of the globe-trotting multiple Group One winner Elvstroem, Danestroem is a half-sister to Consorting and a full to Stroemsky who have also been winners for the stable.
