Really Good Realist

Jul 01, 2013

Having always shown good ability, it was a deserved maiden victory for the lightly raced Realist at Sale on Sunday.

Settling back in the field in the 1424 maiden, the three-year-old circled the field coming to the turn - ending up out wide in the best part of the track, nicely handled by Noel Callow.

Drawing clear over the final stages to salute by a soft 1¾ lengths, Realist broke through at start number five having been close up at all previous outings.

A home-bred for long time stable client John Olle who races him with Karin MacNab, Realist is a son of Tale Of The Cat's Group 3 winner Purrealist out of the Scenic mare Bella Rippa.

Also bred by Olle, the 3/4 sister to dual Group 1 winner Episode has a yearling full brother to Realist called Real Mad and another Purrealist weanling colt.

Served last spring by Street Boss having foaled a colt by him last spring, Bella Rippa is a half-sister to a couple of very good members of our stable - Olle's city winners Countcool and Cameo Minx.
