Two runners - two winners!
Feb 23, 2013
The stable enjoyed a great night at Moonee Valley on Friday - our two runners both saluting, Hula Lua finishing powerfully to win her second race in a row whilst progessive stayer You Think So was so impressive taking out one of the evening's features, the $150,000 Listed Geoff Torney Night Cup.
Recording his third Moonee Valley victory, the good-looking chestnut settled back in a slowly run affair but jockey Luke Nolen displayed good initiative to circle the field and take an early lead.
It proved a winning move, You Think So really travelling approaching the turn - railing beautifully and skipping clear to win by a soft three lengths.
"I thought there would be enough pressure on for him to take a sit," Michael Kent said, "but they were walking!"
Happy to see Nolen take off, Kent was not surprised to see You Think So win in such easy fashion.
"I really thought he had a good chance tonight. I had him in better shape than last start as he'd had a freshen-up before that run."
Having had time on the water-walker, You Think So has been "really thriving" and he looks nicely primed for a crack at next month's Adelaide Cup.
A seven times winner and nine times placed from 21 starst, You Think So has won over $323,000 for his proud owners Derek Murray, the Miss Judmar Racing Syndicate, John Corr, Peter Fitzgerald, Peter Henley, the Mongrel Syndicate, John O'Brien, the Rosswood Syndicate, John Seward and Ed Woods.
