Godiva Rocks

Feb 09, 2013

We look to have a very nice Blue Diamond chance this year - exciting filly Godiva Rock catching the eye with a strong finish in Saturday's Group 3 Blue Diamond Fillies Prelude at Caulfield.

Showing plenty of natural ability at her first start, the daughter of Stratum drifted back on a track suiting on-pacers - finding trouble after turning into the straight.

Not clear until the 180m, the bay showed great courage to finish off her race so well - her third earning her valuable black type.

Hailing from an outstanding Australian family, Godiva Rock (who is bred on an interesting 3 X 3 cross of Danehill) can boast amongst her relations the big race winners Redding, Leica Smile, Pharaoh and Leica Lover.

Godiva Rock was 100-1 in Blue Diamond markets on Saturday morning, firming into 33-1 on the strength of her debut performance.
