Handsome Is as Handsome Does!

The stable took two runners to Friday evening's Cranbourne meeting and we happily cheered them both on to victory - kicking off with debutant Handsome Knight in the opening event.

Settling back in a fast run race, the son of Al Samer ran on gamely in the straight - wearing down the leader to get up right up in the line by the barest of margins.

"He found the line well," Michael Kent said of the three-year-old who had been performing well in his jump-outs, adding that Handsome Knight will now likely head to a restricted three-year-old event at Moonee Valley.

Raced by John Pleiter, Michael Kent, Garnet Quiney, Darren Swan and Murray Swan, Handsome Knight (pictured below as a newborn) is the second foal and first runner for the tough mare Macedon Magic.

Initially trained by Wayne Treloar and then by us, Macedon Magic - a well related daughter of Pentire - won three races from 1600m to 2050m.

Also showing jumping potential in a few trials before going amiss whilst being prepared for a staying event at Moonee Valley, Macedon Magic hails from a strong Australasian family whose members include the feature race winners Linton, Balmacara, Jamieson Valley, Veodara, Sharvasti, Bhandara and Shastri.

Further back this is also the family of the Breeders Cup Mile & Irish 2000 Guineas winning successful stallion Barathea.
