Bring on the Bagot!

Dec 09, 2012

We are not far off 2013 and we are really looking forward to seeing in the new year in style with In-form stayer You Think So shaping well in preparation for a crack at the Listed Bagot Handicap at Flemington on January 1.

Impressive saluting by 1 1/4 over 3000m at Moonee Valley on November 24, the up-and-coming five-year-old won in even easier fashion at that same track on December 7.

Always travelling sweetly for apprentice Adam McCabe, the son of Golan sat second - cruising to the lead before the turn before racing away in the run home.

In doing so You Think So proved a soft four lengths too strong for his rivals - conceding them all a fair bit of weight.

A five times winner who has been successful at three of his last four, You Think So looks likely to step out in restricted company over 2800m at Flemington on Saturday week - the Bagot a nice target after that.

Also a possibility for the Adelaide Cup, You Think So has always been well regarded by the stable and is now fulfilling the potential he has long shown - even though he is still not fully mature.

"He is absolutely thriving," Michael Kent enthused, "he is loving his training and his racing - he is right in the zone at the moment, he is just going so well."
