Canonized cruises home
Sep 27, 2012
Three times successful from just nine starts, Canonized proved a class above his rivals stepping up to a mile at Seymour on Thursday.
Always travelling well for Brad Rawiller, the up-and-coming four-year-old settled nicely midfield on the rails - gaining a split early in the straight and getting clear from the 150m, saluting by a soft 1 1/2 lengths.
A well named son of Danehill's Caulfield Guineas winner God's Own, Canonized was bred by John Richards and purchased at the 2010 Melbourne Premier Sale for $50,000.
Raced by Rodrigo Aguilar, Jeremy Bostock, Clare Cameron, James Canty, Piers Canty, Ze-Soong Chua, Patrick Cooney, Julian Cooney, Duke No 2 Syndicate, Roy Masters, Canonized is the second of only three foals produced by the stakes winning Grand Lodge mare Rather Grand who sadly died young last summer.
She was one of eight winners produced by the Sovereign Red mare Rather Droll - also dam of the stakes winner Sublimity and grandam of the Gr.3 placed multiple city winner Benatar.
