Supido Loving Life!
Sep 17, 2018
It is great to hear that a stable favourite in Supido is settling in so well at his new home at historic Widden Stud in New South Wales.
And we are also delighted that the well related son of Sebring is proving so popular with breeders with the stud's Ryan McEvoy reporting that "he has met with fantastic support from breeders all over Australia."
Due cover over 130 mares in his debut season, Supido is impressing the staff at Widden with McEvoy noting that "he is an absolute professional in the breeding barn."
"And, as of today, we've had five pregnancy scans for five in foal!"
A terrific horse for us, winning seven of his 18 starts, amassing over $560,000 in stakes, Supido enjoyed a career highlight winning the Gr.3 Sir John Monash Stakes - the same race won by champion stallion I Am Invincible.
Hailing from the family of influential stallions Northern Dancer, Danehill, Machiavellian and Halo, Supido was also close up in Group One company including a brave Goodwood Handicap third behind Black Heart Bart and Under The Louvre who went onto quinella (in the reverse order) the Stradbroke Handicap.
Supido was always a popular horse around the stables, watching all goings-on from box no.1. He is missed but we are looking forward to training some of his progeny in years to come.
