Miss Steele A Mum

Aug 25, 2017

We are always delighted to hear good news about former members of the stable and we offer our congratulations this week to the Zito, Cichello and Button families on the arrival of a lovely Medaglia d'Oro filly for Group Three winner Miss Steele.

Retired last spring as the winner of four races and over $380,000 in stakes, the grey daughter of Statue Of Liberty enjoyed her career highlight at Morphettville, finding the line gamely in the Proud Miss Stakes.

Whilst the Proud Miss is not an old black type race, it is already proving a good source of successful broodmares with 2006 winner Clear View producing the Group Two winner Farson whilst 2008 winner Soaressa is the dam of two times Group winning sprinter Thermal Current.

Also winning three races at Moonee Valley, Miss Steele is a half-sister to triple Group winner Steel Phoenix from the family of stallion Jayemzed, sire of our recent Caulfield winner Leodoro who has the same happy owners of this lovely new foal.

Miss Steele will visit Darley's triple Group One winner Frosted this spring.
