More Black Type For Vibrant Rouge
Oct 04, 2016
What a terrific run it was by Vibrant Rouge in Saturday's Gr.2 Rose Of Kingston Stakes at Flemington, the consistent eight-year-old adding further black type to her already impressive record.
Already a Gr.3 winner and now two times Group placed, Vibrant Rouge has won eight races and over $450,000 in stakes. And hopefully we can add to that with the mare due to contest the Gr.2 Tristarc Stakes on Caulfield Cup Day.
And that may be the final run for Vibrant Rouge who was recently scanned in foal to exciting young Northern Meteor stallion Zoustar.
Her latest placing came just 19 days after she was served and she is in great condition at the moment! And somewhat unlucky not to have added another win to her tally.
"It just took her a while to get out," Michael Kent said, noting that "she is probably better suited sitting wide and travelling."
Jockey Luke Nolen, who was having his second ride on Vibrant Rouge agreed but said that the mare was a victim of circumstances.
"There was a lot of crowding going on early and we just couldn't find a good spot. We ended up further back than I would've liked."
But as usual Vibrant Rouge did not let us down, really flying home late... "she has been a lovely mare for us," owner Gaston Khougaz said, looking forward to the arrival this time next year of "a good foal!"
